We have received news from GFF Alumnus Lauren Fakhoury, who has returned to New York City where she is currently attending New York University.

“College is great so far… My classes are very interesting, my professors are helpful and engaging, and my classmates are easy to talk to. Right now, I’m liking the idea of a Politics and Economics double major, but thankfully, I don’t have to declare until the end of Sophomore year. Outside of class, I have gotten involved in some pre-law extracurriculars and rec sports. I’m really loving policy debate and can’t wait for tournaments to start in October,” Lauren says.

“All the concrete here has inspired me to try to become a plant person, so I now have a small army of little green friends by my window. In terms of bagels, I’ve not had as much time for exploring as I would like, but I have tried two new places-—one was mediocre, but the other was really good,” Lauren adds!

“Other than that, I’ve been doing a lot of wandering around the city with my new friends. We’ve gone kayaking on the Hudson, visited lots of parks, and spent way too much time at the Union Square Greenmarket. I feel very lucky,” Lauren exclaims!

Good to hear that things are going well at NYU, Lauren. We wish you much success!
