Zeyad is in his second year as a computer science major at Vanderbilt University. Summer 2019 took him to Bethesda, Maryland’s National Institutes of Health where he interned in the field of machine learning applications in medical question-answering. He is a teaching assistant for a computer science course at Vanderbilt, and volunteers at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He shares that “I am enjoying Organic Chemistry and Digital Systems this semester, and I look forward to taking computer science depth courses in the near future.”
He feels fortunate to have been able to develop a passion for research thanks to attending the STARS program with the GFF’s support, and in the future, intends to pursue more opportunities in software engineering and/or research.
