Sponsored Student Reports 2018

 

The following is a listing of GFF sponsored Carbondale Community High School student reports:

 

Gabriela arrived at the University of Michigan.

Gabriela was engaged in daily laboratory experiments during her time at Michigan Math and Science Scholars.

Gabriela discovered that she really enjoyed being in the lab during her time at Michigan Math and Science Scholars.

Maya got all settled into her dorm room before her whirlwind learning experience kicked off at Brown.

Maya learned all about the mammalian brain while attending STEM II at Brown University.

Maya learned how to do poster presentations while at STEM II at Brown. But it wasn’t all work and no play, as she and her classmates enjoyed a few science-based outings as part of the enrichment program.

Charlie was immersed in challenging mathematics principles at AWESOME Math.

Charlie also enjoyed time with like-minded peers at AWESOME Math.

Ian attended STARS and got hands-on engineering research experience.

Aisha was thrilled to learn and be part of the kitchen staff at Tom’s Place during her mentorship-model enrichment program in culinary arts.

Aisha learned how to make special dishes, as well as how to plate and present them, during her culinary arts internship.

Eli was excited to take on computer-programming challenges at Stanford.

Eli enjoyed some time off while at Stanford. The program even put on a carnival–complete with a petting zoo.

Eli and Maya engaged in a lighthearted competition over who found the biggest chair while at their respective enrichment programs.
