Arthur Grayson, MD, graduated from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in 1956. His residency in general surgery was done at Baylor University, and he then practiced general surgery in Torrance, California, until his death in 1990. His hobbies included world travel, flamenco guitar, running, ballroom dancing, and origami. He was the youngest brother of Ruth Garwin.
A distinguished lecture series in Dr. Grayson’s honor was sponsored by the Garwin Family Foundation beginning in 1997. The annual public lecture, which focused on health law and policy, was given at the SIU School of Law.
