We are proud to announce that GFF Alumnus Yoonseo Jung was selected as concertmaster for the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) All-State Orchestra. The Illinois Music Education (All-State) Conference was held January 25-28, 2023, in Peoria, Illinois.

The Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) is a not-for-profit professional association representing every level of music education in every discipline. With more than 3,500 members, ILMEA is the largest Fine Arts education organization in Illinois and among the largest in the nation.

Last summer, Yoonseo completed a GFF sponsored course, Fundamentals of Augmented Reality, at Stanford University. For her final class project, Yoonseo Jung and team members created a music-related AR prototype called “Guit-AR.” The application was developed to help beginning and self-taught guitar players place their fingers in the correct positions, which can be difficult without the AP’s assistance.

Yoonseo is thankful for the support she has received from the foundation. “Anytime I hear good news, I immediately think of the Garwin’s continuous support for my endeavors. Thank you so much always for always sharing generosity and support for me! Being a Garwin Ambassador is surely one of my greatest prides,” Yoonseo says.

Congratulations, Yoonseo… we are so proud of you!
