We are excited to learn that GFF Alumnus Rea Yoh will graduate with honors from Brown University on May 29th with a double major in Biology and Science, Technology and Society. In 2016, as a GFF sponsorship student, Rea Yoh attended a “Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine” course at the Summer@Brown Pre-College Program in Providence, Rhode Island.

“This semester has been very busy, emotional, and full. I just finished and presented a poster of my senior thesis for biology, which is on the interosseous muscles in the bat hand-wing. Ballroom competitions have started again in-person, and my partner Ang and I are making the most of my final few months. I’ve been volunteering with The Miracle Project New England, a theater program for people on the Autism spectrum. I’m also helping start a program called Come and Learn Meditation, which brings university students to nursing homes to lead guided meditations,” Rea Yoh reports.

After graduation, Rea will be moving to Vancouver. Her future plans include working remotely with her current research lab, applying for summer internships, continued involvement with The Miracle Project New England—and, of course—ballroom dancing.

Congratulations Rea… We are so proud of you!
