Gabriela Benyas experienced a summer of intensive organic chemistry instruction and hands-on experiments at Michigan Math and Science Scholars (MMSS).
As a sponsoree of the Garwin Family Foundation Student Sponsorship Program for Talented Students in the Arts, Sciences, and Math, Gabriela was enrolled in MMSS’s “Catalysis, Solar Energy, and Green Chemical Synthesis” at the University of Michigan.
At MMSS, Gabriela gained exposure to numerous organic chemistry concepts, learned how to perform many experimental methodologies, gained experience in researching and reading scientific papers, and boosted her laboratory acumen. In her report, she shares details about the enrichment program and her takeaways.
