Gabriela Benyas has settled in with her roommate at Columbia University in New York City. In addition, she has been meeting and networking with a variety of people during her first semester.
“My favorite (and possibly my hardest) class is probably Literature Humanities, where we read 10-12 texts each semester and discuss them twice a week. I really enjoy this class because the discussions are incredibly insightful, and I learn so much. I’m also taking Calculus III, Chemistry, and Frontiers of Science,” Gabriela says.
While discovering the many educational options at Columbia, Gabriela has also signed up for several extracurricular activities.
“I am a proud member of the Columbia University Orchestra, and am really excited about playing the repertoire for this semester. I also recently found out that I am a Columbia College Student-Alumni Ambassador, so I hope to build some meaningful connections with a wide variety of people,” Gabriela reports.
“I am still exploring other clubs, but I am most involved with those two. I have also been trying to go out into the city at least once or twice a week to explore, eat, and just hang out in the greatest city in the world! So far, I’m really loving that part of college,” Gabriela adds.
“Overall, I am doing well. I really like doing the whole “adult” thing, walking to class in a beautiful city, and studying at a pretty awesome school,” Gabriela says.
Great news, Gabriela! We wish you the best during your time at Columbia.
