Eric Dollinger, 2015 GFFer, is enjoying his electrical engineering studies at University of Notre Dame. And, as a member of the Notre Dame Rocket Team, he put what he’s learning to work by perfecting the rocket’s air braking payload. This year, the team placed 10th out of 60 university teams and won the Educational Outreach Award in the NASA Student Launch Competition.

This summer, Eric is interning with Procter & Gamble Family Care Engineering in Cincinnati. His projects focus on finished product handling and include: analyzing and testing possible sensor upgrades, developing tools to help troubleshoot problems, and leading an electrical installation project.

He tells us that: “It’s given me a lot of exposure to different areas of electrical engineering and a chance to see the impact my studies can have. It’s also exciting to work on products that I know my friends and family use. And much of my work falls into the field of controls engineering, which I was first exposed to during my GFF summer enrichment experience.”
