The Garwin Family Foundation celebrates alumni GFF scholarship recipients Gabriela Benyas, Eric Dollinger, and Anjalika Mohanty, who have successfully completed their studies.
Gabriela Benyas has recently graduated from Carbondale Community High School. She has been accepted to Columbia University in New York City but will defer her admission for one year due to the Covid-19 crisis. Until then, she plans to perform research with professors at SIU, volunteer at local schools, participate in community service opportunities, teach a little violin/piano, and find temporary employment.
Eric Dollinger has graduated cum laude from the College of Engineering at Notre Dame University where he has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Eric also has an employment offer to work at Boeing, beginning in July of 2020.
Anjalika Mohanty has recently graduated summa cum laude from George Washington University where she has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Elliot School of International Affairs, with a concentration in Global Public Health.
Aisha Ruperto has recently graduated from Carbondale Community High School. As a GFF scholarship recipient, she participated in a summer internship in Culinary Arts with Chef Lasse at Tom’s Place in 2018. She did such a great job, that Lasse suggested she become a chef. However, Aisha plans to attend SIU this fall to study dental hygiene. “Of course, I will never stop cooking for loved ones,” Aisha says.
We are so proud of everyone—congratulations!
