CCHS Student Sponsorship Program: 2018

The 2018 scholarship winners for the GFF’s CCHS Student Sponsorship Program for Talented Students in the Arts, Sciences, and Math were: (Back Row) Ian Kinsel, Eli Tsung, Gabriela Benyas, (Front Row) Charlie Du, Maya Benyas, and Aisha Ruperto.

Charlie was immersed in challenging mathematics principles at AWESOME Math.

Eli was excited to take on computer-programming challenges at Stanford.

Eli learned tons about programming and independent living while at Stanford’s summer enrichment course.

Gabriela was engaged in daily laboratory experiments during her time at Michigan Math and Science Scholars.

Maya learned all about the mammalian brain while attending STEM II at Brown University.

Ian attended STARS and got hands-on engineering research experience.

Aisha was thrilled to learn and be part of the kitchen staff at Tom’s Place during her mentorship-model enrichment program in culinary arts.

Charlie also enjoyed time with like-minded peers at AWESOME Math.

Eli enjoyed some time off while at Stanford.  The program even put on a carnival–complete with a petting zoo.

Sisters Gabriela and Maya were excited to head off to their respective GFF-sponsored programs for the summer.

Gabriela arrived at the University of Michigan ready to learn.

James and Rea, members of the GFFer family, met up for coffee in Providence, where they are both in school.

The GFF celebrated going back to school with CCHS and collegiate GFFers.

Aisha learned how to make special dishes, as well as how to plate and present them, during her culinary arts internship.

Eli made new friends among his classmates and dormmates at Stanford.

Eli and Maya engaged in a lighthearted competition over who found the biggest chair while at their respective enrichment programs.

Gabriela discovered that she really enjoyed being in the lab during her time at Michigan Math and Science Scholars.

Maya got all settled into her dorm room before her whirlwind learning experience kicked off at Brown.

Maya learned how to do poster presentations while at STEM II at Brown.  But it wasn’t all work and no play, as she and her classmates enjoyed a few science-based outings as part of the enrichment program.

The GFF celebrated the end of the semester with a pizza party for current and prior GFFers.
