Anjalika was part of the Garwin Family Foundation’s inaugural class, and utilized her scholarship to attend a week-long CSI and Law program in Washington, DC. She is currently in her senior year at George Washington University and will complete her degree in International Affairs with a concentration in Global Public Health. She says, “The (GFF sponsored) program was a really rewarding experience and introduced me to the city that I’ve come to call my home. Eventually, I hope to pursue a career in human rights law, but right now I’m looking to work a year or so in DC and then go to law school.”
Last year, Anjalika traveled to Dakar, Senegal, where she took a month-long public health course. She spent the following semester studying abroad in Strasbourg, France, where she had an internship with the Council of Europe, the governing body of the European Court of Human Rights. In the summer of 2019, she interned for the US Agency for International Development in the Office of West African Affairs under the Bureau for Africa. Some of her favorite projects included spearheading preparations for the swearing-in ceremony of a mission director (the USAID equivalent of an ambassador), working with one of the Bureau’s consulting partners to organize the closeout event of a 3 year Ebola monitoring and evaluation program, and preparing talking points and briefing materials for the Agency’s administration.
Anjalika is an active member, Alpha Delta Pi, and was one of the founding members of the position of Diversity and Inclusion for the chapter.
