We are proud to announce that GFF Alumnus Minseo “Emily” Jung, who will graduate from IMSA in June, has been accepted at the University of Chicago where she will continue her studies in Economics, Data Science, and Music. The University of Chicago is world-renowned for Economics—rated by U.S. News as the top 6th university nationally and 15th internationally—so this is quite an accomplishment for Emily!

Last summer, as a GFF sponsorship program student, Emily Jung attended a 3-week course in Economics at the University of Chicago’s Pathways program. The course was an introduction to rigorous Chicago-style economics, where students learned about four critical fields of economics: price theory, game theory, experimental economics, and macroeconomics.

During past sponsorships, Emily has studied Cryptography at Stanford University, and Economics and the politics of North Korea at the Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung Foundation in North Korea.

“I wanted to express my sincere gratitude to the Garwin foundation for sponsoring me for the prestigious summer programs for two summers of my high school. I will be majoring in Economics with a double minor in Data Science and Music. I will also continue to participate in orchestras and to volunteer music activities for the community,” Emily Jung reports.

“I am extremely excited for the next four years! Again, thank you so much for all your strong support and encouragement,” Emily Jung adds.

We are excited for you as well… Congratulations, Emily!
