Ian is a freshman at University of Illinois with a full course load, and particularly enjoys the labs in his physics course and Introduction to Computer Aided Design. However the course he looks forward to most this semester is philosophy: Introduction to Logic and Quantitative Reasoning with its diverse set of topics.
In addition to academics, he is active in extracurriculars as a student member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and a volunteer for the Engineering Outreach Society (which teaches science principles at a local elementary school). He is also involved with his Residence Hall and University Honors Student Councils. This keeps him busy, but in his free time, he continues working on his origami, watching movies rented from the lobby, and reading.
